2012 Outdoors: Placed second in the discus with a toss of 178’6 at the Baldy Castillo Invitational on March 16.
2011-12 Indoors: Opened the season by securing first place in the shot put (53’6½) at the NYC Gotham Cup on Jan. 13…Uncorked a winning toss of 57 feet in the shot put at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships on Jan. 26…Took second in the shot put (55’2¼) and fourth in the weight throw (50’8¾) at the Manhattan College Invitational on Feb. 8…Placed first in the shot put (56’6¾) and fourth in the weight throw (52’3¾) at the Millrose Games Collegiate Invitational on Feb. 11…Won the shot put (58’9¼) and took fourth in the weight throw (55’9¼) at the MAAC Indoor Championships on Feb. 17…Competed in both the shot put and weight throw at the IC4A Indoor Championships on March 3, finishing 16th in the shot put (51’6¼).
2011 Outdoors: Named Second Team All-American after finishing 15th in the discus (175’11) at the NCAA Championships…Secured fourth place in the shot put at the Metropolitan Outdoor Championships on April 15…Competed in the men’s college discus at the Penn Relays on April 29…Shared Most Outstanding Performer for Field Events honors at the MAAC Outdoor Championships (May 7-8) after taking gold in both the shot put (53’7¾) and discus (180’0)…Grabbed fourth place in the discus (169’4) and fifth in the shot put (53’8½) at the IC4A Championships on May 13…Qualified for the NCAA Championships for the first time by taking seventh in the discus with a season-best throw of 181’3 at the NCAA East Regional on May 26.
2010-11 Indoors: Won the gold medal in the shot put with a mark of 54’4½ at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships on Jan. 28…Took first in both the shot put and weight throw at the Manhattan College Invitational on Feb. 9…Selected as Most Outstanding Performer for Field Events at the MAAC Indoor Championships on Feb. 18 after taking first in the shot put (55’11¼) and second in the weight throw (55’2¼), achieving season-best performances in both events…Competed in both the shot put and weight throw at the IC4A Championships (March 5), placing eighth in the shot put with a toss of 53’0.
2010 Outdoors (at Oklahoma): Earned All-Big 12 honors in both the shot put and discus throw after finishing eighth in both events at the Big 12 Championships…Competed in the NCAA West Regional in the shot put and discus…Finished third in the shot put (56’1¼) at the Sooner Open…Recorded a season-best toss of 183’7 in the discus throw at the North Texas Classic to qualify for the NCAA Regional meet.
2009-10 Indoors (at Oklahoma): Had a season-best mark of 57’7½ in the shot put at the Tyson Invitational…Won the shot put competition (55’5½)…Oklahoma Christian Invitational II…Finished second in the shot put at the Sooner Open with a toss of 54’2¾.
2009 Outdoors (at Oklahoma): Finished eighth in the discus throw at the Big 12 Championships to earn All-Big 12 honors…Placed sixth in the discus throw at the NCAA Midwest Regional with a throw of 179’3 to just miss a spot in the NCAA Championships…Tossed the discus 181’2 at the Oklahoma Christian Ray Vaughn Track Classic to break his own Irish junior record…Captured second place in the discus (181’2) at the Sooner Twilight…Also won the discus competition (178’0) at the John Jacobs Invitational…Qualified for the NCAA regional meet with a discus throw of 186’4 at the Sooner Invitational, good enough for second place in the event.
Other: Competed for Ireland at the 2011 European Team Championships in Izmir, Turkey, placing 11th in the discus (170’9¼)…Also represented Ireland at the 2011 European Under-23 Championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Before Manhattan: Represented Ireland at the 2007 World Junior Championships, finishing eighth in the shot put and setting a national record (63’5)…Also holds the Irish junior record in the discus throw and weight throw…Named team MVP all four years at Los Gatos High School…Recorded the top shot put in California in 2008…Placed second in the shot put and third in the discus at the 2008 California State Championships…Finished third in the shot put at the 2007 California State Championships…Also played football…Named All-State Football/Track by Cal-Hi Sports.
Personal: A dual citizen of the United States and Ireland…Father, Paul, is a 1986 Manhattan graduate and represented Ireland in the shot put at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics…Mother ran cross country and track at the University of Connecticut…Has two sisters, Jessica and Ashleen…Born on June 17, 1990.
