NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- The Manhattan baseball team dropped the opening game of its weekend series at Niagara, 16-1.
Manhattan (9-23) did bring the first run of the game around in the top of the first inning on a double steal which featured
Pete Durocher stealing second and
Daniel Perez taking off from third on the throw and managed to be safe at the plate.
In the home half of the first, the Purple Eagles clubbed three home runs in responce to take a 5-1 lead and remained in control for the rest of the game.
Daniel Perez recorded two of the three Manhattan hits this afternoon.
The series continues tomorrow at Bobo Field at 2 p.m.
