RIVERDALE, N.Y. — Senior catcher Andreaus Lewis has taken his spot on the 2025 Buster Posey Midseason Watch List, which includes 56 Division I catchers from around the nation. The list will be narrowed down to just one to honor the nation's most outstanding catcher, as determined by the Wichita Sports Commission.
Lewis, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, is one of five catchers from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference to be placed on the prestigious watch list. He joins Ashby Vining and Tyler Smith of Saint Peter's University; Aidan Paradine of Siena; and Frankie Ferrentino of Merrimack.
Lewis is batting .309 in 110 at-bats this season and leads the Jaspers with 30 runs batted in. Batting in the middle of the order, Lewis has hit five home runs and carries a .445 slugging percentage along with an .853 OPS.
Lewis has nine multi-hit games this season, including four three-hit games. Additionally, Lewis has a pair of five RBI games during his breakout campaign.
The group of semifinalists for the Buster Posey Award will be revealed on May 19, and the finalists will be made official on June 5. That will give way to the Buster Posey Award Ceremony on June 26 at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas.
Meanwhile, Lewis and the Jaspers will return to the diamond tomorrow at Fordham beginning at 3 p.m. The Jaspers and Rams will square off at Houlihan Park at Jack Coffey Field on ESPN+.
