POMONA, N.Y. –
Alfredo Delgado hit his second home run of the season in the Jaspers home opener at Clover Stadium as the Jaspers suffered a 9-2 setback.
Game two of the weekend series with the Stags is set to begin at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Clover Stadium.
Before Delgado drilled his long ball in the sixth inning, Fairfield managed to bring seven runs around, including utilizing two home runs.
Early on Manhattan did have opportunities, but could not convert, including leaving two runners stranded in each of the first three innings.
Despite the result, the Jaspers finished with nine hits, with Delgado and
Ryan Ash each recording a pair.
Daniel Perez connected for his fifth double of the season.
