LUBBOCK, Texas – Manhattan closed its weekend in Lubbock with a 6-3 setback to Buffalo on Sunday morning.
Manhattan (3-11) finished the weekend in Lubbock with a 1-4 record.
Buffalo (6-16) built a 4-0 lead over the first five innings. The Bulls scored once in the second, then three in the fifth. In the fifth. Sara Kelly brought home two with a double to right center. Lily Lauck made it 4-0 when she scored on a sacrifice fly.
The Jaspers pulled one back in the bottom of the fifth.
Anissa Villalobos stole second, and
Madison Ihnat stole home to get Manhattan on the board.
A run in the top of the seventh pushed the Bulls' lead back to five, 6-1. In the bottom half,
Gabriella Mazzotta drove in her third and fourth runs of the season with a single to centerfield. Villalobos and
Jamie Falotico came around to score. That would be it for the Jaspers in the home half of the seventh.
Kelly and Alexis Lucyshyn had two RBI for Buffalo in the game. Emily Watters recorded the win for the Bulls.
Manhattan is back in action on Wednesday with a doubleheader at Seton Hall.
