PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Manhattan bounced back and took game two of its weekend series against Siena with an 11-4 win on Saturday night.
Manhattan (14-13, 5-3 MAAC) used a six-run fifth inning to turn a 2-1 lead into an 8-1 advantage.
Harrison Treble brought in the first two runs with a single back through the box. Two batters later,
Pete Durocher brought home two more with a double into the left-field corner, and the Jaspers led 6-1. A wild pitch and an RBI groundout concluded the scoring. The Jaspers sent 11 batters to the plater and tallied six hits in the decisive frame.
Durocher added his third RBI of the game when he led off the seventh with a solo home run that wrapped around the foul pole in left and extended the lead to 9-3. It was Durocher's third of the season.
Dolan Ocasal and
David Bermudez singled to left to bring in the game's final two runs for the Jaspers.
Jordan Warecke went seven innings to pick up the win. The right-hander struck out five Siena Saints (8-21, 5-3) and allowed only two earned runs. Warecke kept Siena off the board through four innings before allowing a run in the fifth and a pair in the sixth.
All nine Jaspers who started scored at least once, five had at least two hits, and three drove in multiple runs on Saturday night.
The third and final game of the series is Sunday at 1 p.m. at Pace University. Fans will need to complete the form in accordance with the
