Riverdale, NY - Marist posted a 61-39 win over Manhattan in the first of two games between the teams at Draddy Gymnasium.
Trailing 20-4 in the early going, the Jaspers answered 13-straight, to trim the deficit to three with 4:56 to play until halftime.
After the visitors briefly responded, Manhattan ended the stanza with six of the final eight points capped by a with a Marques Watson (Jr., Brooklyn, NY / Miami Dade College) layup that made it a one-point game (24-23) at the break.
Following intermission, the Jaspers took their first lead of the game at 27-26 with 18:00 to play while eradicating the early 16-point deficit on an Elijah Buchanan (Jr., Bronx, NY / Woodstock Academy (CT)) triple.
Marist would answer with 10-straight en route to pushing its advantage out 41-28, before the Jaspers responded with five-straight points.
Unfortunately, that would be as close as the Green & White would get.

* Manhattan ended the first half on a 19-4 run over the final 11:40, and pressured Marist into just 1-of-13 shooting during that time.
* The Jaspers also pressured the Red Foxes into turnovers in 7-of-8 possessions during the stretch.
* Manhattan forced a season-high 23 turnovers, which also marks the 43rd time under Head Coach
Steve Masiello that the Jaspers have turned the opposition over at least 20 times.
