New York, NY - Manhattan saw its three-game winning streak snapped at Columbia by a 7-2 count in non-conference action at Satow Stadium.
The Lions improve to 6-11 while the Jaspers fall to 7-16.
Chandler Bengston opened the scoring with a grand slam in the bottom of the first, staking Columbia to a 4-0 lead.

Manhattan got two runs back in the top of the fourth inning after loading up the bases to start the frame. Junior
Dominic Palma (Hilton, NY / Hilton) led off with a single before sophomore
Matt Padre (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central) walked and junior
Alex Cerda (Miami, FL / Florida Christian School) singled. Following a fielder's choice, sophomore
Jake Knop (Portland, ME / Portland) singled to plate Padre and freshman
Sam Franco (Bardonia, NY /Â Clarkstown South) drew a two-out, bases loaded walk to force in Cerda, while trimming the deficit to 4-2.
The Lions would respond with a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth in extending the lead out to 7-2.
Unfortunately, after plating two runs the Jaspers were only able to muster singles from Franco and sophomore
Santiago Riera (Rioclaro, Venezuela / Brunswick (CT)).
Senior RHP
Anthony Fanelli (Astoria, NY / Msgr. McClancy Memorial) paced the pitching unit, firing 2.0 innings of one-hit ball with a strikeout, while junior RHP
Alexis Calderon (Bethlehem, PA / Liberty) registered a scoreless frame.
RHP Saajan May (1-0) earned the win, striking out two over 3.0 hitless innings.
