Kingston, RI - Despite having four players hit for double-figures, Manhattan dropped a hard-fought decision to Rhode Island by a 73-64 count at the Ryan Center.
The Rams improve to 5-2 while the Jaspers fall to 3-2.
Sophomore
Warren Williams (Kingston, Jamaica / St. Benedict's Prep (NJ)) paced Manhattan with 14 points off the bench, while senior
Tyler Reynolds (Syracuse, NY / Harcum College) and sophomore
Tykei Greene (Queens, NY / Long Island Lutheran) each added 11. Classmate
Samir Stewart (Fort Lauderdale, FL / American Heritage) rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points while adding a career-best matching six assists.
Junior
Nehemiah Mack (Harrisburg, PA / Massanutten Prep (VA)) matched Stewart with a career-high six assists over 27 turnover-free minutes and senior
Pauly Paulicap (Elmont, NY / Harcum College) hit for nine points with four blocks and two steals, rounding out the top Jasper statistical performers.
URI jumped out to its largest lead of the game 53-36 with 10:28 remaining, before the visitors made things interesting.
Paulicap converted a three-point play off a Stewart assist, before the latter returned the favor with a three pointer. After the Rams, briefly quelled the spurt, Paulicap hit two more shots to cap a 10-2 run while slicing the deficit to 55-46 with 8:46 remaining.
The Jaspers would continue to battle and got to within seven at 71-64 with 15 seconds to play, but was unable to get any closer in falling by nine.
Fueled by 53.1 percent (17-of-32) shooting after halftime, Manhattan converted on 39.7 percent (25-of-63) from the floor, while forcing 19 URI turnovers.
Jeff Dowtin (24 points) and Fatts Russell (20 points) paced a Ram unit that made good on 44.0 percent (22-of-50) from the field and 71.8percent (28-of-39) from the line.

* The Jaspers have forced more turnovers than the opposition in all five games, and are turning teams over an average of 18 times per game.
* Manhattan's 17 assists and 15 offensive rebounds match season-highs.
* Paulicap's 12th career four-block game gives him 99 rejections over his three years as a Jasper.
* The Jaspers forced URI into just 1-for-9 shooting from deep, as opposing teams are averaging just 6.0 makes per game this year.
* Reynolds is averaging 12.5 ppg and Williams 11.5 ppg over the last two games.

Christian Hinckson (Queens, NY / Tilton School (NH)) matched Greene with a team-best six rebounds to go along with seven points.
* Greene is the lone Manhattan player to hit for double-figures in all five games, and is averaging a team-best 13.2 ppg and 7.0 rpg.
* After halftime this year, the Jaspers are averaging 40.6 ppg with Greene leading the way at 9.0 ppg, while making good on 56.0 percent (14-of-25) from the field, including 45.5 percent (5-of-11) from deep.
