Riverdale, NY - Iona posted a 3-0 win over Manhattan in MAAC action at Draddy Gymnasium.
The Gaels took the match by scores of 25-23-, 25-18 and 25-15.
In defeat, the Jaspers were paced by freshman
Kelly Markowski (Winter Park, FL / Lake Highland Preparatory School), who notched six kills. Junior
Erin Hoener (St. Louis, MO / Incarnate Word) added four kills, three blocks and two aces. Defensively, junior
Nashally Eleutiza (Orlando, FL / Monroe College) had a match-high 16 digs.
Karla Johnson led Iona with 12 kills while Samantha Juran added 25 assists.
Manhattan is now 3-16 and 1-6 in the MAAC, while Iona is 2-15 and 2-5 in the league.
The Jaspers return to action at Saint Peter's on Wednesday, October 16 with opening serve slated for 7:00 pm.
