Bronx, NY - Manhattan volleyball closed out its non-conference schedule at Fordham September 12, falling to the Rams in three sets (25-21, 25-13, 25-12).
The Jaspers look toward conference play at 0-11 overall this season. Fordham improved to 5-5 on the year.
Highlights:
- Sophomore Erin Hoener (St. Louis, MO / Incarnate Word) led the Jaspers with 11 kills, hitting .500 for the night. The middle blocker, who was named to the Blue and Gold All-Tournament team last week at Toledo, currently leads Manhattan with 47 kills this season.
- Freshman Vivian Donovan (Newport Beach, CA / Newport Harbor) added six kills for the match.
- Hoener also tallied three blocks in the Fordham match, bringing her season total to 25, also a team-high.
- Sophomore Jade Jeffrey (Tamarac, FL / Cardinal Gibbons) contributed two blocks against the Rams.
- Manhattan posted a .417 hitting percentage in the first set of the match, the team's second-best hitting set of the season (the Jaspers hit .500 against Coppin State). Manhattan tallied a .152 team hitting percentage for the match.Â
- Freshman setter Shruti Mangipudi (San Ramon, CA / Dougherty Valley) led the Jaspers with 18 assists. She has 156 on the season, good for a 5.03 assists per set average.Â
