Bethlehem, PA - Manhattan volleyball senior libero
Alyssa Rehrer (Lorton, VA / South County) earned 27 digs in two matches Saturday, September 1, bringing her career total to 1,150, good for ninth place on the program's all-time list.
Rehrer, who earned her 1,000th dig during the 2017 campaign, has 102 for the season, averaging 4.43 per set. She is currently ranked second in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in the number of digs this season, and is third in the league in digs per set.
Rehrer's efforts this weekend were not enough, however, to bring home a Jasper win, as Manhattan fell to both Lehigh (5-0) and Coppin State (2-5) to close out the Crosstown Tournament in Bethlehem, PA. Manhattan falls to 0-7 on the season.
Game Notes:
- Lehigh defeated the Jaspers 25-14, 25-11, 25-22. to remain undefeated for the year behind a 33-18 kill advantage and nine team blocks for the match.
- Freshman Julia Menocal (Bronx, NY / Preston) led the Jaspers with five kills on 18 attempts in match one. Senior Casey Monroe (Riverview, FL / Riverview) contributed four kills of her own.
- The Jaspers took a set from Coppin State in the second match of the day, but weren't able to push the content past the fourth, losing 25-23, 25-20, 12-25, 25-19.
- Sophomore middle blocker Erin Hoener (St. Louis, MO / Incarnate Word) led the Jasper attack against Coppin State with 11 kills (.364 hitting percentage). She also tallied a game-high three blocks, and currently ranks 10th in the MAAC in total blocks this season with 14.
- Kenza Hall (Oakland, CA / Middle Tennessee State) added nine kills in match two, earning a hitting percentage of .412. Her overall hitting percentage of .224 ranks 10th in the MAAC.
- Senior defensive specialist Samantha Wagner (Sandy, UT / Hofstra) earned three service aces in the match. Her eight on the season is a conference best.
- Manhattan put together 14 kills on 24 attempts in the second set of match two, for a team hitting percentage of .500.

The Jaspers travel to Toledo, OH, for Toledo's Blue and Gold Tournament. Manhattan will face Duquesne Friday, September 7 at 7:00 pm, and will then play matches against Morehead State (10:00 am) and Toledo (7:00 pm) on September 8. Manhattan Head Coach
