Hartford, CT - Manhattan battled defending America East Champion Hartford to a 1-1 draw at Al-Marzook Field thanks to
Arianna Montefusco's (Levittown, NY / General Douglas MacArthur) second-half goal.
The Jaspers move to 1-2-1 with the tie while the Hawks are 0-2-1.
Hartford dented the scoreboard first in the 47th minute only to have Manhattan deliver the equalizer in the 72nd minute as Montefusco headed in a cross from junior
Emma Saul (Orchard Park, NY / Orchard Park).
Hartford appeared poised to reclaim the lead, but Nissa Pereira's shot in the 76th was punched away by a diving
Kelly DiGregorio (Centerreach, NY / St. Anthony's). DiGregorio then forced overtime with another impressive save in the 89th minute.
In extra time, the Hawks owned a 3-2 advantage in shots.
DiGregorio finished with four saves in moving to 0-1-1 on the year.
Alexandra Bridgette scored the Hawk goal while Maia Perez made two saves.
