Hartford, CT - Manhattan battled defending America East Champion Hartford to a 1-1 draw at Al-Marzook Field thanks to Arianna Montefusco's (Levittown, NY / General Douglas MacArthur) second-half goal.

The Jaspers move to 1-2-1 with the tie while the Hawks are 0-2-1.
Hartford dented the scoreboard first in the 47th minute only to have Manhattan deliver the equalizer in the 72nd minute as Montefusco headed in a cross from junior Emma Saul (Orchard Park, NY / Orchard Park).
Hartford appeared poised to reclaim the lead, but Nissa Pereira's shot in the 76th was punched away by a diving Kelly DiGregorio (Centerreach, NY / St. Anthony's). DiGregorio then forced overtime with another impressive save in the 89th minute.
In extra time, the Hawks owned a 3-2 advantage in shots.
DiGregorio finished with four saves in moving to 0-1-1 on the year.
Alexandra Bridgette scored the Hawk goal while Maia Perez made two saves.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Montefusco's goal was the third of her career while Saul's assist was the fifth of her career.
- In the first half, senior Dylan Burns (Manchester, CT / Manchester) sent a shot from on top of the 18-yard box just wide of the target in the fourth minute. The Jaspers also threatened in the 35th minute, but senior Erica Modena's (Massapequa, NY / Massapequa) shot on a 1v1 went just high.
- Hartford leads the all-time series by a 2-1-1 count.
- Manhattan snapped a five-match losing streak to America East opposition.
- All four Jasper matches this year and 12-of-13 in the non-conference dating back to the 2015 season have now been decided by one goal or less.
