Riverdale, NY – Playing a man down against a solid Binghamton squad, Manhattan dropped a 2-0 decision at Gaelic Park.

With the victory, the Bearcats improve to 2-0-2 while the Jaspers fall to 0-3.

Binghamton opened the scoring in the 31st minute when Miles Burbank scored off a Charlie Novoth pass before Zach Galluzzo found the back of the net in the 58th minute with a successful header.

Despite being outshot 18-6, Manhattan did a solid job of attacking the Bearcat zone as Troy Carrington (Verona, NJ / Syracuse) and classmate Stefano Allegra (Suffern, NY / Don Bosco Prep (NJ)) got solid looks at the goal in the second half.

Graduate student Delian Bregasi (Boglidisco (Genoa), Italy / St. Thomas) and sophomore Tomas Espinal (Miami, FL / Westminster Christian) combined for six saves in goal while Binghamton's Alejandro Cubillo made two stops in earning the victory.

The Jaspers return to action on Saturday, September 10 at La Salle with first kick slated for 1:00 pm.
