Riverdale, N.Y. (January 27, 2007)?Despite receiving seasonal bests from both relay teams and Megan O'Keefe's performance in the 200 fly, Manhattan Women's Swimming came up short against CW Post in what was the final career home meet for the program's four seniors?Courtney Arduini, Meghan Daly, Nicole Mason, and Sarah Szotak.
Szotak started her Senior Day by leading off the 400 medley relay team and helping the squad post its top mark thus far at 4:23.48. CW Post, however, proved to be a few seconds better, claiming first in the opening event en route to a 118-72 victory.
“We brought the most intensity I've seen from this group all season, but we ran into a superior CW Post team,” said Manhattan head coach Walter Olsewski '68.
O'Keefe, a sophomore, picked up first place points for the Lady Jaspers in the 200 fly with a seasonal best time of 2:19.26. Followed by Mason, Arduini, and junior Maura McGowan, O'Keefe would later lead off the 800 free relay, which clocked in at 8:45.25 for another seasonal best.
With the MAAC Championships only two weeks away, Manhattan concludes its regular season at conference rival Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y. on Saturday, February 3 at 1:00 p.m.
