Biography

2006-07: Again, served as a sprint leader, consistently anchoring the team’s relay squads throughout the season... swimming the fastest split (25.41s) of our four teammates, she swam the anchor leg on the 200 yard freestyle relay team that set new school record (1.42.42) en route to becoming the first relay squad in program history to achieve All-MAAC status at MAAC Championships (2/8)...anchored the 800 free relay team that broke the school record (8:25.52) at the MAAC Championships (2/9)... and helped set the program’s 400 free relay record, anchoring the team that finished the race at the MAAC Championships in 3:47.55 (2/10)... at ECAC Championships at Harvard (2/16), swam anchor leg in 400 free that resulted in 12th place finish... won the 100 free and took second in the 200 free in dual meet vs. Stevens Tech (10/20)... paced 200 free relay team to first place finish in dual meet vs. Sacred Heart (11/4)... anchored 200 free relay to mount come from behind win vs. St. Francis of N.Y. (11/3)... came back on 11/12 to anchor another win in 200 free vs. Canisius... swam the last leg in 200 free win by relay team in dual meet vs. St. Joseph’s College (12/2)... also won the 50 free at that meet and took first in the 100 free... anchored the 200 free relay team to a victory (1/16) over NJIT and also swam the third leg in a win by the 200 medley relay team vs. NJIT.

2005-06: Continued to solidify heBefore Manhattan:r place in the Manhattan record book with another record-setting season that culminated at the MAAC Championships, where she set new school individual records in the 50 free and 100 free, while anchoring four different relay squads (200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, 200 free relay, and 400 free relay) to new school records... advancing into the MAAC finals of the 50 free and 100 free, she set the new school marks at 25.63s and 56.33s, respectively... at a MAAC quad meet with Niagara, Canisius, and Saint Peter’s (11/12), she took the title in both the 50 free (26.16s) and 100 free (57.10s)... won the 50 free with a time of 25.93s to help the Lady Jaspers defeat Stevens Tech (10/28)... earned MAAC All-Academic honors in her first year of eligibility for the award.

2004-05: Member of four school record breaking relays at the MAAC Championships (200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, 200 free relay, and 400 free relay)... also broke the school record in the 50 free at the MAAC Championships... touched first in the 50 free vs. Stevens Tech (11/23), vs. Sacred Heart (11/5), vs. Canisius (11/13), and vs. NJIT/Hunter (11/21)... placed first in the 100 free vs. Sacred Heart (11/5) and Canisius (11/13).

Before Manhattan:  Michigan state finalist in the 50 and 100 freestyle events... earned All-State honors during her senior and sophomore years... received the Presidential Award... also was named to the Principal’s List.

Personal:  Daughter of Stephen McGowan and Therese Andrews... has one brother, Mark... majoring in mathematics... birthdate is February 3, 1986.
