Manhattan University Spirit Squads


Our Jasper spirit squads consist of Dance, Cheer, Pep Band and our mascot, Brother Jasper. You can find these squads cheering on your Jaspers at every Men's and Women's Basketball games as well as many other events around campus. For more information please conatct Recreation@Manhattan.edu
 

Cheer

In Spring of 2024 the Manhattan University Cheer team competed at the NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach Florida for the first time in program history. Our goal is continuing to grow and develop year in and year out.  We pride ourselves in crowd engagement at all our Division 1 Athletics programs while maintaining high academic status. 

The Manhattan Cheer Program now has two teams: Gameday and Competition. 
We hold tryouts every semester for Gameday teams to offer opportunities for transfers, exchange students, etc.
We hold tryouts one semester per year for the competition team.

Dance
 
The Jasper Dancers are a Division 1 College Dance Team, competing in both Jazz and Hip Hop styles. They proudly claimed 1st place for Division 1 Hip Hop at the 2019 National Dance Alliance competition and recently secured 3rd place in 2024. In addition to their competitive achievements, the team dances at all home Men’s and Women’s Basketball games and actively engages with the Jasper community in many on campus events. We typically hold tryouts for the following season in spring. Pep Band

Manhattan University's Pep band is an innovative mixed instrumental group consisting of brass, woodwinds, and rhythm that provides music for all home basketball games. The Pep Band is part of the school's Jasper spirit squad that shares the excitement and inspiration of our athletic teams in Draddy Gymnasium. As part of the Spirit Squad, the Manhattan University Pep Band leads hundreds of screaming fans in spirited renditions of their favorite hits over dozens of men's and women's basketball games. The Pep Band team will also travel with the teams to various tournaments/games and be present at numerous other university events!  All instruments, years, and skill levels are welcome to join.
