Manhattan men's and women's track and field embodied its competitive spirit at a pair of competitions on Friday. The Jaspers were represented at the Colonial Relays hosted by William & Mary University as well as the Metropolitan Championships which took center at Icahn Stadium in Manhattan. Most notably, the Jaspers' men's squad performed to the tune of a second-place finish at the Mets.
COLONIAL RELAYS
MEN

Senior sprinter Darion Lopez captured first place in the Men's 200m Finals with a time of 21.37 seconds.

Freshman Rasmus Jaeger came through big in the Men's 1500m Finals with a mark of 3:59.56 seconds, good for ninth place.

In the Men's 10000m race, junior Adrian Alonso orchestrated an 11th-place showing (32:20.46) while senior Jack Flanagan set a new personal best of 32:55.13, good for 16th place.

In the Men's Long Jump, sophomore Thomas Dubnov Raz registered fourth place (7.11m), which marked a new personal best for him on the outdoor circuit.

Meanwhile, junior Alex Bilello jumped to sixth place with a score of 6.98m.
WOMEN

Freshman sprinter Mikayla Dorvil nabbed fourth place in the Women's 100m Hurdles with a score of 15.12 seconds, a new record for the neophyte,

Senior Martina Martinez checked in at fifth place in the Women's 400m Hurdles, clocking in at 1:01.98.

Junior Isabella Sing took seventh place in the Women's Long Jump, attaining a new PR of 5.46m. Sing also finished in 25th place (12.57) in the Women's 100m Dash.

Senior Kyle Conroy engineered a PR in the Women's 1500m event, crossing the finish line with a time of 4:37.81.

Lastly, freshman sprinter Tranira Booker finished in 25th (25.66) in the Women's 200m.
METROPOLITAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
MEN

The men finished second overall with a team score of 96 points trailing only the Fordham Rams (136).

Seniors Alex Kristeller and Paul Brennan headlined the Men's Hammer Throw with top hurls of 65.07m and 62.44m, respectively. Kristeller was crowned the champion while Brennan achieved runner-up status.

Brennan, a former Princeton University standout, also tested his mettle in the Men's Shot Put and Men's Javelin, producing a career-best mark of 15.78m in the shot put.

Brennan's performance in the shot put resulted in first place honors for the graduate student. The final results in the shot were flipped from the hammer's final pecking order, with Kristeller (14.94m) taking second this time.

Like Brennan, Kristeller showcased his repertoire by competing in the Men's Javelin event, placing seventh.

Sophomore Lewis Forster took first place in the Men's Javelin, measuring his throw at 61.40m.

Junior Ivan Lytovchenko soared to a first-place finish (1.95m) in the Men's High Jump. Freshman Nate Alvarez took fourth place in the event with a score of 1.85m.

Senior Brian Oduor (50.36) and sophomore Malik Coleman (51.01) each scored in the Men's 400m Dash, taking fifth and eighth place, respectively. Coleman's mark was a new personal best for the second year.

The Jaspers' carried the positive momentum over to the Men's 800m race — highlighted by senior Brendan Lucey taking fifth place (1:58.32); sophomore Adam Guzman PR'ing en route to a tenth place finish (2:00.05); sophomore Colby Micheels nabbing 14th (2:00.64); and senior Ryan Cleere compiling a PR of 2:01.59 for 15th place.

Freshman Joshua Mingoia secured 10th place in the Men's 5000 race with a new PR of 15:39.45.

The Men's 4x800 Meter Relay of Brendan Chan, Guzman, Micheels and Lucey took first place out of a quartet of competitors from Fordham, Saint Peter's and LIU.
Women

The Jaspers' highlights in the Women's Hammer Throw included senior Alexandra Caraher garnering second-place honors (47.42m), freshman Thea Dahl earning third-place laurels (46.53m) and senior Naiylah Shepherd meriting seventh place (41.62m).

In the Women's High Jump, freshman Victoria Baker tied Fordham's Zoe Arakelian for second place at 1.60m.
-
Junior Elaina Batista notched 13th place (2:30.16) in the Women's 800m race. Classmate Nikki Kelch registered a new PR of 2:41.02 to take 17th.
