Softball Drops Non-Conference Midweek Tilt at Columbia

NEW YORK, NY – The Manhattan Jaspers softball team (10-22, 7-6 MAAC) fell to the Lions of Columbia University (15-15, 7-5 Ivy League) by a score of 12-4 in five innings on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Coming off five consecutive conference victories, the Green and White rode high on the short trip southbound to the prestigious Ivy League institution.

  • During the next at-bat, Jamie Falotico brought home Diaz from third on a sacrifice fly into right field.
  • The Jaspers didn't stop fighting in the top of the fifth, with the reigning MAAC Rookie of the Week, Brianna Estevez, doubling down the right field line.
  • On the ensuing at-bat, Hoag slapped a double into right-center to bring home Estevez to post the Jaspers' third run.
  • With Kiseloski singling into right and Victoria Diaz grounding out to second, Hoag would cross the plate to become the fourth run.
