Kiseloski Powers Softball to Victory over GW in Washington D.C. on Friday

WASHINGTON, DC – The Manhattan Jaspers softball team (1-8, 0-0 MAAC) took down the Revolutionaries of George Washington University (9-8, 0-0 A10) by a score of 3-2 in our nation's capital on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • After the Revs posted a pair of runs in the bottom of the first, the Jaspers found their rhythm with a Mickayla Rodriguez single two batters into the second inning. Victoria Diaz then reached on a fielder's choice before Jamie Falotico singled up the middle to drive home Rodriguez.
  • Brianna Estevez got Manhattan on the bases in the top of the third inning before Sophia Kiseloski drove home Estevez to tie the game at two.
  • George Washington continued to threaten the Jaspers, but starting pitcher Karissa Spring got in and out of trouble after plunking one batter, forcing a Travieso pop up to the left side.
  • Manhattan took advantage of the Revolutionaries along the basepath, where Lindsay Hoag swiped one bag after opening the top of the fifth with a single up the middle.
  • After Hoag advanced to third on a wild pitch, Kiseloski drove home the go-ahead run to put the Jaspers in front.
  • In the home half of the seventh inning, Victoria Diaz came in relief of Spring, where she slammed the door shut on any comeback attempt by GW to record the first victory of 2025.
