BUFFALO, NY – The Manhattan Jaspers Men's Lacrosse team (5-5, 3-1 MAAC) was narrowly edged against the Golden Griffins of Canisius University (4-8, 4-1 MAAC) by a score of 8-7 on Saturday morning.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Coming off its fiery one-goal victory over Quinnipiac, the Green and White began right where it left off on Wednesday on its home turf.

- Four minutes later, off a turnover from Canisius, the Jaspers took advantage, with Jack Miller finding the back of the net to give Manhattan an insurance tally.
- Midway through the second quarter, ahead by one, the Jaspers applied pressure to the Canisius defensive end and forced the Golden Griffins to call timeout. Just seconds later, Drew Hiner gave the Jaspers a two-goal lead for the second time.
- After Canisius took its first lead three minutes into the third quarter, Manhattan tied things up at four with Hiner finding Kelly DuPree for the team's fourth goal.
- Entering the fourth quarter, Hiner tallied his second goal of the game, reducing the deficit to one.
- Trailing by as much as three goals with three minutes remaining in regulation, the Green and White shifted into their next gear, with Liam Peabody finding the back of the net twice within 100 seconds, but it was not enough in the effort.
