Behind Martin's Impressive Mile, Jasper Women End Day Two at Dr. Sander Scorcher

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Manhattan Women's Track & Field ended Day Two of the Dr. Sander Scorcher which saw the Jaspers compete in the 1 Mile (Open), 200m (Open) and the Long Jump (Open). 


HIGHLIGHTS

  • Freshman Mikaella Martin delivered her best indoor mile with a time of 5:03.1, good for fifth place out of 52 runners.

  • Junior Mikayla Dorvil took home 21st in the Long Jump (Open) with a mark of 4.97. 

  • Freshman Tranira Booker rounded out her weekend with 31st place in the 200m (Open).

Kerri Inman, director of Cross Country and Track & Field: "While we had some tougher performances on day two, I am very proud of the effort of our team today. We have some athletes celebrating personal bests and strong performances. Next week at Mets, we are ready to fight for points!"

The Metropolitan Championships await Manhattan. The Jaspers will trek to Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island next Friday, Jan. 31st to face off with the area's best.
