EMMITSBURG, M.D. —
A win on the road on Saturday at Mount St. Mary's (11-8, 4-4 MAAC) would be just what the doctor ordered for a Manhattan (8-9, 3-5 MAAC) unit which has dropped 3 of its last 4 games in conference play. On Saturday, the Jaspers, who have been without freshman forward Fraser Roxburgh (foot) for all six games so far in 2025, will look to avenge a 75-66 loss vs. Mount back on January 10. Manhattan will be without Roxburgh once again, and will continue to look for scoring from key frontcourt contributors Will Sydnor (15.4 PPG) and Wesley Robinson (11.6 PPG).

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION

  • Since leaving Draddy with a nine-point victory two weeks ago, the Mountaineers have lost three of four games, including three in a row.

  • Last Saturday, Mount St. Mary's fell to first-place Quinnipiac at home, 91-57. The lopsided defeat was on par with the Mountaineers' loss at Maryland (86-52) on November 8.

  • Since third-leading scorer Terrell Ard Jr. (11.4 PPG) has been sidelined due to injury, the Mountaineers are 0-3 while being outscored by opponents by an average margin of 18 points-per-game.

  • In the first meeting between Manhattan and Mount, Ard Jr. was Mount's leading-scorer with 16 points (8-13 FGs).

  • Mount St. Mary's features three double-digit scorers, with redshirt junior forward Dola Adebayo (12.7 PPG) and sophomore guard Dallas Hobbs (11.6 PPG) joining Ard Jr. in double figures.

  • Mount St. Mary's is 4-1 this season in games decided by four points or less.

  • The Mountaineers are the fourth-best rebounding unit in the MAAC at 36.9 caroms-per-game, edging the Jaspers by 0.4 rebounds-per-game. Additionally, Mount is second-best in the MAAC in limiting second-chance opportunities for opponents, pulling down 26.3 defensive rebounds-per-game.

  • Mount St. Mary's picked up a signature road win at Miami, defeating the Hurricanes, 78-74, in overtime on December 21.
