Berlin, CT — Manhattan has set themselves on the right footing at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate carding a program-record 284 (even par) for round one. The Jaspers' team performance was good enough to take a stake in the three-way tie at the top of the 16-team field along with host school Sacred Heart and Rhode Island.

Cabell Faulkner turned in an impressive day one performance with a -1 round. He tallied 5 birdies on the day—on 6,7,10,17—and sits in fifth place in the individual standings.

Louis Vandeputte made strong strides himself on day one by tying Faulkner's 70. Vandeputte finished hot with birdies on 15, 17 and 18. He too is part of the fifth place tie in the individual standings.

Róbert Leó Arnórsson has been another key freshman for Jaspers helping move the chains along. Arnorsson sank birdie putts on 7, 10 and 18 and closed out his round with an even 71.

Akshay Mandadapu has helped illustrate the strength in numbers, specifically in terms of depth. Mandadapu held steady with 15 pars in his round and was rewarded for his patience by birdying 18. Sophomore
Walter Carley rounded out the Jaspers line-up with a 76 (+5).
