Manhattan plays host to Sacred Heart

Riverdale, NY — The Jaspers officially return to competition on Saturday when Sacred Heart arrives at Gaelic Park for a 12 p.m. kick-off. The action will be streamed live on ESPN +.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW 

-In their last game, Manhattan lost a close 1-0 call to Canisius in Buffalo last Saturday. The Golden Griffins grabbed the winning goal in the 86th minute off the foot of Emma Oliphant. 

-Entering Saturday's match-up with Sacred Heart, Manhattan is 2-0 at Gaelic Park. The Jaspers play a total of 8 regular season games at Gaelic. Sacred Heart is Manhattan's first home opponent on the MAAC schedule.

-The loss at Canisius snapped Manhattan's 4-game winning and shutout streaks. 

-Sami Derrico has shined in her senior campaign, leading Manhattan with 9 points by virtue of 4 goals and 1 assist. 

-Sophomore goalie Molly Brunk owns a 0.85 goals against average through 7 games. 

-Manhattan and Sacred Heart will meet for the first time since 2022 when the Jaspers dropped a 1-0 decision on the road. This is the first time both teams will meet as conference foes with Sacred Heart currently in their inaugural MAAC season. 

-Sacred Heart enters the game 0-7-1 with a -11 goal differential.
