RIVERDALE, NY– The Manhattan Men's and Women's Cross Country programs launched its 2024 campaign at the Harry Lang Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Colgate University to close out the month of August.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Leading the pack on the men's side was Junior Jaxon Newton, who logged a time of 20:35.7, with a pace of 5:32. During the 1000M split, Newton recorded a time of 3:08.6. In the 2355M split, he logged a time of 7:29.0. Finally, the Fort Collins, CO product recorded a 17:29.2 time in the 5060M split.
- Rounding out the top 30 was junior Adrian Alonso, who registered a time of 20:55.6 overall, with a pace of 5:37. Tied with Binghamton's freshman John Garrison. Alonso logged split times of 3:09.7 (1000M), 7:35.7 (2355M), and 17:41.7 (5060M).
- Receiving 28 points was Junior Jack Flanagan, who recorded a time of 21:16.0, and averaged a 5:43 pace throughout the entirety. Flanagan registered split times of 3:11.09 (1000M), 8:00.9 (2355M), and 18:10.1 (5060M).
- Freshman Joshua Mingoia recorded a time of 21:29.4, and logged a pace of 5:46 alongside Colgate's senior Benjamin Horner. The Ascot, England native logged split times of 3:08.6 (1000M), 7:47.4 (2355M), and 18:10.0 (5060M) totaling 29 points.
- On the Women's Side, it was freshman Mikaella Martin who paced the Green and White with a time of 19:46.3. Her pace of 5:19, was tied with Binghamton's freshman Alicia DeFilippis. The 1000M split time was 3:54.2, while her 4060M split time was 16:06.9.
- Receiving 19 points and placing 24th was sophomore Bailee Christofis, who registered a time of 20:04.9 with a pace of 5:24. Tied with Buffalo's junior Allison Newton. The sophomore's split times were 3:54.8 and 16:21.4 in the 1000M and 4060M splits, respectively.
- Logging 23 points for the Jaspers was junior Kylie Conroy, who etched a time of 20:11.3 onto the scoreboard, with a pace of 5:25. Tied with Colgate's pair of freshman Ava Kletti and Ashley Crane. Conroy's splits were 3:53.6 and 16:23.8.
- Rounding out the top 30 on the women's side was junior Bella Cannizzo, who recorded a time of 20:16.4, and a pace of 5:27. Her splits were 3:54.3 and 16:26.0.
