FORDHAM, NY - Manhattan and Fordham played a single game today, with the Jaspers claiming a 6-3 victory.
The Jaspers got men on base early and made the Rams pay for a first inning error, scoring two runs on the play. Manhattan would score a third run on a sacrifice fly from
Dylan Mayer to make the score 3-0 after one. This would remain the score until the fourth inning when Fordham got a solo home run by Michael Taylor, followed by an RBI double to make the score 3-2. The Jaspers would answer in the fifth with an RBI single from
Trevor Hansen. The Jaspers would rally in the sixth to add insurance, coming via a sacrifice fly from
Chase Swain, followed by an RBI single from
Drew Wyers to make the score 6-2. Fordham would score one more run in the seventh inning on a passed ball but could not gain any momentum, allowing the Jaspers to come up with a 6-3 win.
Daniel Perez had three hits and two runs today for Manhattan, while Swain and Wyers each had one run and one RBI.
Patric Benn started for Manhattan, pitching into the fourth inning.
Jorden Sesar came in relifer and earned the win. A combination of
Noah Mattera,
Carter Cowburn, and
Tyler Babel finished the game for the Jaspers with Babel earning picking up a save.
