LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Jaspers drop their two-point lead in the third, falling to the Saints 11-10.
After trailing by two points in the first quarter, the Jaspers turned the tide in the second, outscoring the Saints 3-1. The first of the three Jasper goals didn't come until 9:26 in the second. This goal was scored by
Sean Shelko, who capitalized on a ground ball retrieved after a wide shot by
Kyle Gucwa. The score was tied twice before the half ended, leaving the score at 5-5.
The Jaspers seized their first significant lead of the night deep into the seemingly quiet third quarter.
Quinn Bowler's shot helped solidify the Jaspers' dominance in the third quarter. After some back and forth, the Jaspers extended their lead to two points, their largest of the night. However, the lead narrowed to one before the end of the quarter.
The Jaspers' foothold slipped in the fourth quarter, allowing the Saints to regain the lead late in the game.
Leading the Jaspers' offense tonight were both
Scott O'Connor and
James Basile, each contributing a pair of goals.
The Jaspers have one more game in the regular season, returning home next Saturday to host Wagner College on April 20th at 4:00 PM.
