Manhattan Women's Lacrosse Hits The Road

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan women's lacrosse prepares for a heavy three-game week.

After having a weeklong break, Manhattan (3-2) returns to action this week, starting with UMBC, followed by Campbell University, and then finishing up at Coastal Carolina University.

This first game on the road for the Jaspers is against UMBC (4-3). The Retrievers and Jaspers have a short history of playing each other, only totaling four games. However, the Retrievers are currently undefeated against the Jaspers, with the last game being in 2015 where the Jaspers were edged by one goal. The Retrievers most recently lost their last game, which was against Towson University, losing by more than 10 goals.

Next up on the list is Campbell University (2-4). The Camels and the Jaspers have no history between each other, having their first-time game this Monday. The Camels are currently on a two-game losing streak, with their most recent loss against Wofford, dropping the game by only one goal at 16-15.

Last up on the Spring Break road trip is Coastal Carolina University (3-3). The Chanticleers and the Jaspers have no history between each other, having their first-time game this Thursday. The Chanticleers are on a two-game winning streak, with their most recent victory against Binghamton, topping the Bearcats by only one goal at 12-11. However, prior to facing the Jaspers, the Chanticleers must first travel to Mercer this Saturday.

The Jaspers come into this week off a three-game winning streak at home, with their most recent game being against FDU. The Jaspers dominated the Knights on both the offensive and defensive ends last week, defeating the Knights 17-6. Today, the three offensive powerhouses for the Jaspers were Olivia Cruthers, who scored five goals, followed by Juliana Iovine and Ashley Bonitch, each with four.

Leading the Jaspers in goals this season so far is Reagan Mullins with 12 for the season.

The game against UMBC will take place on Saturday, March 9, at 11:00 AM in Baltimore, MD. Later in the week, the Jaspers will travel south to Campbell University. The game is scheduled for Monday, March 11, at 6:00 PM in Buies Creek, NC. Lastly, the Jaspers will head even further south to CCU for a match against the Chanticleers. The game will take place on Thursday, March 14, at 12:00 PM.
