BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The Manhattan women's lacrosse team fell to Campbell on the road, 19-11, tonight at Barker-Lane Stadium in Buies Creek, N.C.
Tonight's loss is the second straight for the Jaspers after winning three games, previously.Â
Campbell's four straight goals to start the game led to a 7-4 advantage for the home team. Olivia Cruther's scored Manhattan's first goal of the game at the 7:22 mark in the first, followed by a pair of goals from
Lauren Maher to close out the first period.
In the second, both teams scored four goals each, including three by
Ava Fernandes during that stretch.Â
The Jaspers struggled in the third, as they were outscored 4 to 1. Manhattan maintained Campbell in the fourth, but it wasn't enough to close the gap.
In goal was
Ashley Gambardella to start the game. She made four saves in 45 minutes of play, including her 500th career save.
Danielle Serbinski recorded one save in 15 minutes of play.Â
Fernandes led the Jaspers with four goals, while
Reagan Mullins registered three goals to improve on her 100-plus career goal mark.
Julianna Iovine was credited with six draw controls, three ground balls, and one caused turnover.
Andrea Liotta added four draw controls, a trio of ground balls, and two caused turnovers.
The Jaspers continue their road stand with a game at Coastal Carolina at 12 p.m. on Thursday.
