Softball Drops Opener 4-0

Box Score

JACKSONVILLE, Fl – The Manhattan softball dropped their opening contest on Friday to Harvard 4-0, as they started their season today at the UNF/JU Classic.

The Crimson and Jaspers were scoreless until the fifth inning in the first game of the day for both teams.

Harvard struck for two in the fifth to break the ice. The first run of the game came from a single from Alexa Wohr, where an error would lead to a run. The following at bat, a pinch hit single by Maya Douglas would drive Wohr in to take a 2-0 lead.

Woh would get another at bat in the sixth with runners on, where she would once again single, driving in a run to make the score 3-0. Later in the inning Lauren Bobowski would drive the fourth and final run in with a double.

Sophia Kiseloski went four innings and took the loss despite not allowing any earned runs. Riley Flynn picked up the win for Harvard, throwing four scoreless innings in relief. Manhattan was held to three hits, and eight total base runners.
