Women's Lacrosse Falls at Temple, 15-6

Box Score PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Manhattan women's lacrosse team fell on the road to Temple today, dropping the game 15-6.

Manhattan (0-2) had a tough time breaking through an undefeated Temple (3-0) defense in the first half, only scoring once.

The game opened up with the Jaspers trailing the Hawks by one, however this goal was swiftly answered back by Reagan Mullins, who had a hat trick last time out. Despite the momentum from answering back as quickly as they did, the Jaspers were unable to put up any more goals in the first half leading to a 10-1 Owl lead.

The second half was much more active for the Jaspers offense, especially the fourth where they scored three points in a single quarter. In the final four minutes of the game the Jaspers rattled off three goals, the first by Ashley Bonitch, followed by an unassisted goal by Mullins less than 30 seconds later, then the final one by Maher.

Despite the offensive push in the fourth it was too late for the Jaspers to get back within winning territory, losing the game 15-6.

Mullins led the team again in scoring, dropping two consecutive hat tricks. She also was the top defensive performer of the day, picking up four ground balls and caused two turnovers. Juliana Iovine had one goal this afternoon and also dished out two assists to her teammates.

The Jaspers return home early next week, hosting their non-conference home opener against LIU on Wednesday Feb. 21, at 3:00 p.m.
