Men's Lacrosse Hosts Home Non-Confrence Opener

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan hosts its non-conference home opener against the University of Vermont this Saturday.

Manhattan is returning to Gaelic Park after a 16-3 loss against the Orange at Syracuse University last Friday. Scott O'Connor was the lone goal scorer of the game, netting a hat trick and tying his all-time record. Long-time player Kyle Gucwa had assists for two of the three goals.

Vermont sits at 0-2 for the year, having suffered an 18-8 loss to Boston University. Tristan Whitaker leads the Vcats offense, tallying five points against Boston University.

Manhattan and the University of Vermont have only met once before, two years ago, when they lost the match 15-3 in Vermont. Scoring one of the three goals against the Vcats two years ago was Gucwa, who also scooped up three ground balls and caused one turnover.

The game will take place on Saturday Feb. 17, at 12:00 P.M. at Gaelic Park.
