RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Manhattan women's basketball team (10-4, 3-2 MAAC) will travel and play Niagara University this Thursday at 6 p.m. Manhattan will then travel to Canisius this Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Preview: Last time out, Manhattan faced Niagara on March 10, 2023, with the Jaspers winning 81-68. Manhattan played Canisius on January 21, 2023, winning 64-48.
The Opponent: Niagara (6-10, 3-3 MAAC) earned its first MAAC win of the season over Iona, 67-48. Niagara lost its last game against Marist, 61-60. Niagara was led in scoring by Angel Parker, who had 13 points and six steals. Canisius (9-6, 4-2 MAAC) won its first league contest with a 65-63 win over Siena. Canisius lost its last game against Rider, 76-63. SIsi Eleko scored a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Griffs.
Leading the Way: The Jaspers were led in scoring by
Ines Gimenez Monserrat, who recorded 14 points and five assists.
Jade Blagrove added seven points and 11 rebounds for Manhattan in a home victory against Saint Peter's University.
Manhattan is currently ranked second overall in the MAAC and fourth in the league standings for conference games only.
