RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Jaspers fell to Fairfield today in Draddy. The final set scores were 25-10, 25-21, and 25-17.
The Jaspers lost all three sets today against the Stags, coming closest in the second, scoring within four points in the second.
After dropping the first set by 15, the Jaspers used the interval between sets one and two to come up with a plan of attack for the second. After losing the first volley of the second set, the Jaspers scored the next three points of the set. The Jaspers were able to maintain this lead they gained for most of the game, only allowing three more lead changes after this point. The Stags retook the lead from the Jaspers towards the end of the set. The Stags fought back with one last push, going on a five-point run to put them up by three, 21-18. Despite their best efforts, the Jaspers were unable to retake the lead, eventually losing to the Stags, 25-21.
The final set saw the Jaspers fall behind early in the set, allowing the Stags to gain a five-point lead.
Leading the Jaspers tonight was
Mikalah Curran, slamming down 11 kills for the Jaspers.
Sarah Emmons led the Jaspers in assists today, tallying 19 for her teammates.
Manhattan will return to action on Sunday, October 1st, at 3:00 p.m. to face Quinnipiac in Riverdale, N.Y.
