Box Score RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan College defeated Marist on the road tonight, 3-2, thanks to a hat trick by junior forward
Gunnar Studenhofft. It was the second straight win for the Jaspers in league play.
"These guys have shown tremendous resilience all season, and when called upon, every single player has stepped up to give his all," said Head Coach
Jorden Scott. "Tonight was an intense game and we showed that we have a desire to represent our Jasper Family with all we have. Now we have a week to prepare for another tough opponent at home in front of our home crowd and we will be ready."
Studenhofft recorded the first hat trick of the season for a Jasper. His first goal came in the 35th minute to give Manhattan a 1-0 edge. He then scored goals his second and third goal nine seconds apart in the 56th minute to give Manhattan a 3-0 advantage. Marist (3-4-2, 1-1-1 MAAC) scored two goals in the second period but it wasn't enough to top the Jaspers.
Freshman
Lucas Jones earned his first career start in goal picking up four saves in the victory.
Manhattan (3-4-2, 3-0 MAAC) hosts Rider at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 7.
