Men's Soccer Falls to Fordham, 2-0

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan College men's soccer fell to visiting Fordham (4-0-3) tonight at Gaelic Park, 2-0 on Senior Night.

It was a back-and-forth effort between the two teams before the Rams were able to break through.

A free kick due to a Jasper foul near the top of the box led to a Fordham goal in the 36th minute for the 1-0 advantage at the break.

Fordham made one switch to its roster at the half, while the Jaspers nearly cleared their bench to give their reserves a chance to play. The Jaspers slowed the Rams down in the second half, forcing them to get rid of the ball quicker as Manhattan applied the pressure.

The Rams squeaked another goal by the Jaspers, this one in the 63rd minute to go up 2-0 and eventually take the win.

Goalkeeper Danny DiMarco started the game in the net recording four saves. Lucas Jones entered the net in the second half picking up two stops. Tony Yeboah led all Jaspers with two shots.

Manhattan (1-4-2) will return to the pitch on September 23 at Mount St. Mary's. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.

Prior to the match, the Jasper s honored their senior class of Ensa Sanneh, Danny DiMarco, Mason Chetti, Sebastiano Musu, Vladimir Lee, and Anthony Denis.
