EDISON, N.J. - Manhattan College's
Andria Scaglione has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
For the second straight meet and weekend, Scaglione walked away with an individual title. The grad student's time of 19:31.90 in the 5k at the Fordham Fiasco at Van Cortlandt Park was 28 seconds ahead of the runner-up. With a pace of 6.17, Scaglione crushed the field at the prestigious VCP. Her time helped guide the Jaspers to a first-place team finish.
The honor is the first of the season for Scaglione and the second of her career.
The 2023 MAAC Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships will be held at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, New York on Saturday, October 28, 2023. The 2023 championships will be the first time the races will be held at Twin Ponds on the Farm and the meets will be hosted by Manhattan College for the 29th time.
