At The Wildcat Invitational
Times: 10:00 a.m., 7:30 p.m., 12:30 p.m.
The Manhattan women's volleyball team will open the 2023 fall season on Friday, August 25th, as it participates in the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Weber State. The Jaspers will battle three teams this weekend, starting with Saint Mary's University of California and Weber State University on Friday, and then moving on to face Utah Tech University on Saturday.
Head coach Mauro Miletic is in his second season leading the women's volleyball program.
Saint Mary's College of California: This will be the first time the Jaspers go up against the Gales. Last season, the Gales went 9-17.
Weber State: The Jaspers went up against the Wildcats once before in the 2015 fall season, losing the match three sets to none.
Utah Tech University: For the last match of the invitational, the Jaspers will face off against the Trailblazers for the first time. The Trailblazers went 11-12 last season.
Preseason: Before the 2023 season, head coach Miletic added 10 new players to the Jaspers' roster (eight this year, two last year).
Leaders: The Jaspers retained their leading setter from last season,
Julieanne McKee. McKee assisted the Jaspers in scoring a whopping 326 assists in the 2022 season, with a career assist record of 780 plus.
