Men's Soccer Opens Season at Holy Cross

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Manhattan men's soccer team will open up the 2023 fall season on Monday, August 28 when it hosts George Washington at Gaelic Park. The Jaspers will then remain at home for a contest against La Salle for a Friday Night light match-up.
 
Head coach Jorden Scott is in his 11th season leading the men's soccer program. Scott led the Jaspers to a MAAC Tournament semifinal appearance last season. 
 
Holy Cross: Holy Cross leads the all-time series, 2-1. Manhattan won the last outing, 2-0, scoring one goal in each half last year to take home the victory at Gaelic Park. 
 
Preseason: A trio of Jaspers were named to the All-MAAC Preseason Team. Gunnar Studenhofft, Henry Hamilton, and Nasim Akki all received recognition. Manhattan was picked to finish third in the league preseason polls.
 
History: Manhattan is 3-2 in season openers over the last five years, including a two-game win streak. The Jaspers are on a seven-game win streak when it comes to home openers.
 
The Past: The Jaspers finished the 2022 campaign 8-5-6 overall, 5-1-4 in league play. In addition, Manhattan tallied a 6-0-3 mark at home in Gaelic Park.
 
Leaders: The Jaspers' leading striker in Studenhofft returns. He led the squad with five goals and five assists. Danny DiMarco returns in goal where he had 25 saves for a 7-2-4 record.
