RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Jaspers closed out their 2023 season at home against Niagara, losing to the Purple Eagles 15-4.
The seniors honored today were
Hannah Cleary,
Brigit Crosby,
Caroline D'Agostino,
Julia Fernandes,
Ashley Gambardella,
Jessica Hise,
Jennifer McPherson,
Reagan Mullins,
Andrea Liotta, and
Jillian Reiner.
Niagara (11-6, 5-3 MAAC) and Manhattan (6-11, 2-6 MAAC) started slowly in the first quarter, with only three goals scored in total. Reiner scored the first goal of the game. The Jaspers answered with a goal from Mullins, bringing the score to within one, 3-2. As the half progressed, the Purple Eagles began pulling away and finished the half by four.
Mullins was the only player to score a goal for the Jaspers in the second half, scoring five minutes into the third quarter. This goal came off an assist from Fernandes.
The Purple Eagles shut out the Jaspers for the rest of the game and scored six unanswered goals.
