RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Jaspers return to action on Tuesday before opening MAAC play this weekend.
Manhattan visits Fairleigh Dickinson on Tuesday for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. in Teaneck. The Jaspers open MAAC play at Siena on Sunday with a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.
Fairleigh Dickinson enters Tuesday at 11-14 overall and is coming off a three-game sweep of Sacred Heart over the weekend. Jess DeWitt and Andreya Flores are hitting over .300 for the Knights. Courtney Mahoney leads the Knights in RBI (16) and runs scored (10). Julia Swan owns a 6-4 record in the circle for Fairleigh Dickinson.
Siena is 12-8 on the season. The Saints will play Sacred Heart on Wednesday and Saint Peter's on Saturday before hosting the Jaspers on Sunday. Four Saints are hitting over .300, with McKenzie Swinson leading the way at .350. Ava Fitzmaurice leads the team in RBI with 15. Fitzmaurice is also the leader in the circle with a 2.33 ERA and a 4-3 record.
Lindsey Hoag,
Maddy Weir, and
Lauren Rende are all on four-game hitting streaks currently.
Last week,
Megan Hedlund hit .545 and drove in five runs for the Jaspers.
Lindsey Hoag and
Marika Deemer hit .444. Deemer drove in four and scored twice. Rende and
Kaitlyn Flood scored four runs each over the Jaspers' three games.
Deemer is inside the top 10 in the MAAC in average, slugging, on-base percentage, OPS, hits, RBI, doubles, triples, home runs, and walks.
Sophia Kiseloski and
Makayla Veneziale have struck out 32 batters this season, which is T7 in the MAAC.
