MANHATTAN, N.Y. – The Manhattan baseball team dropped a midweek game with the Columbia Lions, 11-4, Wednesday afternoon.
The Jaspers drop to 6-13 while Columbia improves to 7-9.
Manhattan got on the board first, striking in the top of the first. Leadoff man
Frankie Marinelli was given first after being plunked by a pitch. He proceeded to steal second and advance to third on a wild pitch before being making it the final 90 feet thanks to a
Trevor Santos double to deep right field for his ninth RBI and fifth double of the season.
Columbia responded with two runs of their own in the home half of the first inning after a double to right center and a sacrifice fly.

John Farley escaped a one-out, runners on the corners jam in the bottom of the second. He managed to punch out Andy Blake for our no. 2 while forcing an infield fly out to third to escape the jam.
The Lions forced Farley out of the game after tacking on another three in the third inning, making the score 5-1 by the end of the inning.
Connor O'Neill entered the game for Farley.
Manhattan came within two in the fifth inning.
Alfredo Delgado blasted hist first home run to left field which was followed up by an RBI by
Daniel Perez to make the score 5-3.
Columbia put five runs on the board in the seventh to seal the game.
Manhattan's week continues on Friday with a trip to the Nation's Capital to faceoff with the Colonials of George Washington in a three-game series.
