HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The Manhattan baseball team suffered a defeat at the hands of the Hofstra Pride in midweek action Thursday afternoon by a score of 11-4.
Manhattan will enter their three-game series against Hartford with a record of 3-12. Their series with the Hawks begins tomorrow with a doubleheader with the front end beginning on noon.
The Pride touched up Manhattan's starter, John Kwitatkowski, for eight earned runs through three innings before his outing was cut short.
Manhattan was able to get four runs across in their half of the fifth inning. Manhattan utilized a trio of bases-loaded walks as well as a free base by the way of a hit-by-pitch to bring four runs around in the inning. The Jaspers who earned RBIs during that sequence were
Ryan Eaton,
Trevor Hansen,
Frankie Marinelli and
Jacob Radziewicz, but that would be all the offense the Jaspers could muster this afternoon.
