RIVERDALE, N.Y. – After over a month of road games, the Manhattan baseball team will finally get to take the field at Clover Stadium this week for two games, as part of a four-game week for Manhattan.
The week opens with a single midweek game out on Long Island against the Hofstra Pride which is followed up by two home games against Hartford. The Hartford series will conclude on Sunday at Hartford.
Manhattan enters the week after dropping a series down in Austin, Texas against the Longhorns of Texas.
The Jaspers have gotten sizable offensive production from
Daniel Perez, who is batting just under 300, .293, but has a team-high 3 long balls and is second on the team with 10 RBI.
The Pride has had a slow start to the year, sporting a 4-10 record early on in the season. In their most recent series, they took 1-3 from the Blue Hens of Delaware. Will Kennedy for the Pride has had a hot start to the season, currently batting .404 with 10 runs and 7 RBI.
As for the Hawks, Hartford has only played in six games early on, with a record of 1-5 to boot. Their lone win came in extra innings last week down in the Nation's Capital against the Hoyas of Georgetown, 5-3. Hartford utilized a fielder's choice and a throwing error on the same play to have the two winning runs cross the plate.
