YOUNGSVILLE, La. – Manhattan concluded its trip down to Louisiana with a 4-1 loss to Nicholls State on Sunday.
Nicholls State scored three in the bottom of the sixth to break a 1-1 tie. All three runs came off a triple by Abbey Anderson.
Kaitlyn Flood gave the Jaspers a 1-0 lead in the fifth with an RBI single.
Anissa Villalobos scored off the Flood single. It was the first RBI of 2023 for Flood.
Erin Krause tied the game at one in the home half of the fifth with a sacrifice fly.
Mollie Charest started for the Jaspers and struck out a pair over 5.2 innings of work.
Manhattan is next in action at home at Gaelic Park against Hartford on Tuesday, Feb. 28 for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
