RIVERDALE, NY. - Petra Juric recorded a double-double to lead Manhattan women's basketball (5-2) to a 53-43 victory over the University of Vermont (6-5) at Draddy Gymnasium to win its third straight contest.

The Jaspers dominated in the first quarter scoring 16 points and holding Vermont to just five points scored.
Anne Bair led the team with seven points and two assists through one-quarter of play.
Vermont made a comeback in the second quarter scoring 17 points and shooting 44.4 percent from the three-point line, while Manhattan only scored eight points. Despite the low scoring second quarter, the Jaspers still took a 24-22 lead into halftime.
Both teams scored 13 points in the third quarter, leaving zero movement in the scoring difference for the game.
In the fourth quarter, Manhattan found its scoring momentum again and managed to produce 16 points while keeping the visitors to eight, snapping a three-game win streak for Vermont.
The Jaspers were led by Juric, who had her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Bair finished with 13 points and six assists.
Ines Gimenez Monserrat had 13 points and four rebounds to round out the double-digit scorers. Manhattan shot 41.7 from the floor and made all eight of its free throws.
Vermont was led by Keira Hanson's 11 points. As a team, Vermont shot 34.0 percent from the floor and 41.2 from three-point range.
