Poughkeepsie, NY - The Manhattan men's basketball team suffered its first conference loss to Marist, 70-56, today on the road.
The Jaspers (4-4, 1-1 MAAC) were led in scoring by
Shaquil Bender, who recorded a season-high 18 points along with four rebounds.
Daniel Rouzan chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.
Marist (5-2, 2-0 MAAC) was led by Josh Pascarelli who scored 16 points and collected five rebounds, as well as Isaiah Brickner, who recorded 12 points, along with seven rebounds and three assists. The Red Foxes had four double-digit scorers today.
After the first half, the Jaspers trailed 33-27, following a 13-point half by Bender.
The Red Foxes went on a 19-3 run to begin the second half and never looked back. The Jaspers outscored Marist 26-18 for the remainder of the half but they ran out of time to complete the comeback.
Manhattan plays Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday, December 8th at 7pm at Draddy Gymnasium in a non-conference tilt.
