RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Jaspers dropped their first home game of the week against Binghamton 3-1. The final set scores were 23-25, 26-24, 18-25, and 14-25.
After losing the first set, the Jaspers came back in the second to win. However, the Jaspers would lose the next two sets to the Bearcats.
After dropping the first set, the Jaspers made their push in the second. The Jaspers started off the set strong with a 6-1 run, putting them up by six, 11-5. The Jaspers continued to widen their lead and held the Bearcats at bay until the Bearcats had a strong run of their own. Towards the end of the set, the Bearcats would also go on a 6-1 run, tying the game at 24. However, the Jaspers were able to score two quick points at the end of the set, securing the set winner by
Maike Bertens.
The Jaspers went on to lose the next two sets.
Bertens led the Jaspers in kills, totaling 21, while
Julieanne McKee contributed 40 assists. Leading the defense,
Camila Gomez amassed 16 digs for the match.
